- Some families in Sligo and in Carlow, Ireland, barricaded their neighborhoods to prevent the installation of water meters that are going to be facilitating a new stealth tax on water.
- The Richmond Times-Dispatch did a profile on war tax resister and gay-rights activist Jon Klein.
- The snack bar at the headquarters of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C., was shut down when inspectors found rodent droppings and other health violations.
