At Least the Republicans Are Trying to Undermine the Government

Congress is again not planning to give the IRS much more in its stocking this year. Which means their pretty spotty record of catching cheats will continue to get spottier.

No problem, says I. And no problem, says Tom DeLay, who seems eager to destroy the IRS even without anything to put in its place. I think he’s stolen my platform.

“I don’t shed any tears for the IRS,” DeLay said. “Our priority as far as the IRS is concerned is to put them out of business.”
