Tax Resistance.

At the Westminster Police Court, before Mr. Horace Smith, Mrs. Matilda Cubley answered to a summons for non-payment of dog-tax. Mrs. Cubley put in a brief protest against the injustice of taxation without representation, and the case was disposed of with great rapidity. A fine of 15/- was imposed, distraint to take place in default of payment. Mrs. Cubley staunchly refused to pay a penny, either in tax or fine, and now awaits distraint on her goods.
