- Unions in Buenos Aires have executed a general strike to protest a refusal to increase the low-income tax exemption.
- IRS head John Koskinen spoke at the National Press Club about how hiring freezes, low morale, and funding cuts have made it difficult for the agency to attract younger workers.

Koskinen said that over half of IRS staffers are over 50, and that roughly two in five employees will be eligible for retirement by . On the flip side, the agency only has around 1,900 staffers under 30, which amounts to roughly 3 percent of the workforce.
“Essentially, the IRS is facing its own version of the baby bust,” Koskinen said.
