Abdaldar — From the legend of Thalaba, told by Robert Southey in the epic poem Thalaba: the Destroyer. In that poem, Thalaba is destined to destroy the Domdaniel Caverns of the underworld, and the evil dwellers thereof try to stop him. Abdaldar is one of those sent to kill Thalaba, but he died in the attempt, and Thalaba took a ring from the assassin’s dead finger that gave him the power to command spirits.
