Borroboola-Ghas — A character in Charles Dickens’ Bleak House, Mrs. Jellyby, was ever-concerned about the poor children of the savage “Borrioboola-Gha,” but neglectful of the starving children more close to home, or even her own children. (The name is made up by Dickens; there are no real “Borrioboola-Gha” people)
